special agent oso for misfit and my lovely knk

Tomorrow is little misfit's 3rd birthday and since her birthday never falls on holiday (LUCKY ME!), we'll celebrate it at school :)...she's been requesting a lollipop birthday, but she finally gave up on the idea and sounded happy enough to have it at school (pheeeww..).  I've been asking her many times, what sort of theme she would like for her birthday and on all of those occasions, OSO is her only answer....I've tried persuading her towards a more "princess" theme but nope...she's headstrong :).  So, OSO it is....I was looking for an OSO image on the web and there's one free invitation template from Disney Junior but the link was broken :(...so I stole the color scheme and idea and use it for Belle's invitation and gift tags.  

Gift tags and invites

My husband and I played with my latest cool toy...a KNK Maxx 24" machine...I must admit that it was HELL trying to set it up!!!!  I'm very bad at reading manuals! and after a few phone calls to their technical support, the machine was finally up and running.  Yesterday, I pestered my hubby to sit with me and read the rest of the thick manual...So far, I'm able to print and cut using registration mark....though it is still not as precise as Silhouette SD, but it is able to cut through thicker materials...such as the 220 gsm card stock for Misfit's birthday...so, overall I'm happy...I am yet to play more with it...it truly is a powerful machine...just not as user friendly as some of the plug and play machines.  I need to figure out its other functions....

for making sure I stay fat....that's Diana who gave me a big yummy lasagna (you can call her to order, at: 08179878460) and Mimi, my cousin of cookienary who sent me a scrumptiously fattening quiche with super delicious yummy almond biscotti (yes, only 2.5 pieces left :'( hix..)...Then, my super nice sister in law (hubby's youngest sister) just got back from my most favorite place in the whole wide world...she bought me 3 yes...THREE pieces of marimekko fabrics!!!!! arghghghghg they're to die for :) and a box of sponge cake...and, to make my week super happy...I got an email yesterday from the talented Cecilia Hidayat...yes, the artist :)...I won her giveaway!!!! YAYYYY...I love those beautiful drawings of hers...I'm content...

happy happy spoonfulzine and a giveaway too

It's finally out!! Awhile ago, the talented Anthea from Spoonfulzine emailed me to participate on her 3rd spoonfulzine edition.  She requested a Galeon themed handmade things.  So, I've decided to go ahead and make a gocco prints :).  It is a beautiful little magazine and quoting from her blog:

happy birthday, ms.congeniality

Today's Carina's birthday and we wanted to give her something special.  For someone who has just about everything, Astrid recommended us giving her some blank cards and gift tags, since she wanted these when she saw someone did a personalized cards at JICC Bazaar.  So, I traced her picture, her husband and her lovely daughter and made them into caricatures and printed them.  I've also included some gift tags with hers and Val's face :).  I sewed the pouch, put the cards into a rattan basket and presented the whole package to her :).  We hope you enjoy them, Car!

was Chia's constant teasing last weekend when we had our painting lesson...LiMonet hahahahahhaa...I thought it was hilarious...well, you see...I was trying to copy one of Monet's water lilies through this Monet by acrylic paint book I just recently bought.  I think I'm not good with flowers...as a matter of fact, I HATE drawing FLOWERS!!! They're such pain in the hand :p...Chia drew hundreds of sunflowers HAHAHAHAHAHA...but she did a MARVELOUS job!  Her painting has depth...I'll take a picture of it next time I got the chance...or maybe I'll force her to take some photos for me :)

I've been wanting to make a baby theme card...but finally decided on the rocking horse after seeing my friend's beautiful card's creation using cricut :)

will you have tea with me?

I wanted to make 2 cups and a pot...but ended up with this :)...I love tea...it started when I had a lovely afternoon tea at tea and sympathy before I came home for good.  I used to have midnight tea with my (now) husband...complete with cookies and sandwiches ahahhahahahaha...but Jakarta's weather is proven to be too hot and humid for a nice cuppa hot tea :)...I'd love to go to a nice traditional tea salon :)

Finally gocco-ing again :).  And I looove how this one turns out :).  I was so clumsy yesterday, as I was closing my AutoCAD program, it asked whether I wanted to save or not and I chose NO!!!! ARGHGHGH but I've saved it on pdf. sigh...

well, I'm not fully happy with how the kokeshi turned out...but...these will be cut into little panels and turned into....mmm...zippered pouches?? we'll see :).  I am now erasing that print and modify it a bit :)

Tried gocco printing again...mmm the whale didn't turn out nicely and the owl's balloon became a mess because I put the wrong ink! and the banner's inks were too close to each other :(...I've learned a few lessons here and there, though...so next time I know not to design anything with different colors too close to each other!
