costumes in the making

Last lazy Sunday afternoon, I've decided to start cutting out felt fabrics for misfits' year end school performance.  Big M is going to be a pretty butterfly and little M will be a crab :D.  I got the patterns from a japanese costume book and an american costume book.  Will show you the picture of the book and finished product...hopefully soon :)

general pouch

My cousin asked me to make a little pouch to replace her old mobile pouch...so I used my laminated fabric for it :).  It was really hard to top stitch one side...next time I'll definitely cut the fabric in half.

Finally...I got around to making these...my friends just had babies and here they are :)...a boyish one for little baby Alden, a girly one for little baby Kiara and the ducks fabric is for me me me :).

houseboard

Kiki asked me to make this house chopping board.  She saw the design online, I'm not too sure where she got it from and sent the picture to me.  It's done using 3 cm solid wood :) quite nice, I'd say....now I need a house and a kitchen and make one for myself :p...maybe next year? ;)

two sided toy kitchen for misfits

Finally! the kitchen is done...it is a tad bit too big for the kids but they're still very happy and excited with it.  Since I was a kid, I've always wanted a toy kitchen such as this...but I never got one in the end :).  So, this time...I asked the factory to make the kids one :)...it's a 2 sided kitchen so they don't have to 'share' hence less headache on the fighting....

tutorial: fold square bag

Our easter celebration is going to be postponed until mid of this month.  So we're making this fold queare bag for the kids to put in their candies, etc.  I thought I'd give a tutorial on it.  I was going to make a boring square bag, then I thought how I used to make little boxes from paper when I was a kid.  It turns out really pretty :)  and I think I'll make a big version of it.  Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Materials:

1. 40 x 40 cm flower fabric and lining fabric
2. 40 x 4 cm flower fabric and lining fabric for handle (2 each)

trip to a mine...

My last job trip was special :) because I got to ride the helicopter up to Tembagapura.  I've been there a couple of times but this is the first time I went up on a helicopter and the first time I arrived at the new Mozes Kilangin Airport :D. 

That's an actual tire of a small loader...yes, there are bigger ones :D

sewmanics @ inacraft 2011

Been very very busy and stressed out....Today is the start of a 5 days inacraft event at JCC Senayan and this is the first time we participated at INAcraft as Sewing Sisters which comprise of dreamesh, berries booth and kinanti.  It's a HUGE handicraft fair and I don't think I've walked the whole JCC in one day...you'll surely find something interesting there :) do come and say hi to us :)

tutu for a little princess

character pineapple cookies

Big M's friend's Mom is a baker and she came out with these cute pineapple cookies in the shape of Mickey and Minnie!  Aren't they adorable?!  I bet you can ask for other flavors too.  I ordered some lidah kucing cookies before and they tasted great too :).  You can email Astrid (astridtanudisastro@yahoo.com) if you're interested in these...I think they're great for party flavors.  They also come in lilo and stitch as well as winnie the pooh :D.

Finally...Chia found the time to send me some pictures of E's goody bags.  Isn't the mosnter bag just cuteeeeee :).  We've just made another version of the tutu bag...I like them both, I think :).  The black and white photo was taken by Baby Bean Portraits it was a fun day for the kids...filled with art and crafts activities.
