It might not be the neatest sewing....but I love this fabric's pattern and color :). Bought it at Arab St. in Singapore.

a bag for mom

I loved the pattern from my japanese book, that I've decided to make another one, this time for my Mom :). But, instead of making the bottom round, I made it rectangular :) which turned out pretty well :).

apron for all

This was another project I made for Cat's bachelorette party...an apron for everyone :)....I sew half of them..while my other friends cut, measured and sewed the other half :). Thanks to them, I even had the time to put pocket and embroidered their names on the band :)

a friend's wedding

My friend just had her bachelorette party last weekend and I was busy sewing until then :). I made her a few things...A bag with hand embroidery (I got the pattern from allsorts). The bag pattern I got from a Japanese book (ISBN 9784415106564).

Instead of making the bag handles short like in the book, I've decided to make them longer, so she could wear it on her shoulder :). I really like this book...The tree bag I made awhile ago for Emma is also from this book. I then made her a make up bag pouch (from a Japanese magz which I forgot and being borrowed by my friend) and a little pin cushion. And last...I made her a sewing pouch for her smocking ;) stuff...

a birth day gift

My cousin just had her baby son, so I've decided to sew her a little diaper pouch and extra clothing pouch. Hope she likes them :)

a little holiday under the sun

Since everything was ridiculously expensive in Bali during the Lebaran season, and I was so desperately trying to get to the beach....We found a cheaper alternative by going to Pantara Island at Pulau Seribu (thousand islands). The kids enjoyed it though the amount of mosquitos were crazy! We used to go there as a family when I was younger...it has certainly worn down, which is kind of sad.

batik pouch

I've finally used the batik material I got from Bali and made it into a little cute pouch :). It turned out pretty okay...I like the Batik pattern...would love to order more of it.

fabric hunt at pasar tanah abang

Last Saturday my friend and I went to Tanah Abang (another friend was supposed to join us...but she went blank and ended up at Pasar Baru!)...Since the Muslim's New Year is approaching soon (Eid Ul Fitr), it was TOTALLY PACKED!!!! Nevertheless, we still went in despite the crazy traffic jam just outside the market....Good thing I went because I found some treasures there :), I got lots of canvas material in many different colors (and at less than a quarter of the price at Pasar Mayestik, I went crazy)...ooooo happiness....and I found my polka dot linen cotton fabric which I already have at almost half price...so I bought some more!...and also a cute japanese fabric in hot pink :) I am totally convinced that most of the beautiful fabrics overseas are printed here in Indonesia! I just have to scour these markets one by one to find them :). I'm definitely coming back after Eid Ul Fitr! :)...The pics aren't so great...since I took them with my mobile :)...but there are 2 floors of fabric shopping at Tanah Abang...one day would not be enough to examine them one by one....

europe trip

Ooooo...how happy I feel to finally be home after a fun 3 weeks vacation with my mom and younger sister to Europe :). It was a fun filled drama...with my passport gone missing, a suitcase zipper broke at 5am and we missed a train....I am glad I can now look back and laugh at them :). I'll be looking forward to many trips like this in the future...hopefully with my misfits one day :).

crafty thursday

My friend and I decided to do a "Crafty Thursday" hahahahaha and we produced this Tree Bag for our daughters :)...Chia Ling made 2, though...being ambitious! :p

the rest of my days in Melbourne

Well, between helping my sister move to her new apartment, I had the fortunate chance to venture a few more interesting shops of Melbourne :).

1. Bustle and Bows - I love this shop, it's small, intimate and has lots of embroidery stuff, including smocking equipments, patterns and A-Z book series. The shop keepers were all very nice and helpful. I wish they have more of this type of shop, here in Melbourne. I bought the pattern to a very cute smocking-embroidery dress for my Misfits :).










2. Amitie - I've died...and gone to fabric haven :) at least the one in Melbourne :). They stock a lot of fabric range! Including those exciting Japanese fabrics!! Even more than the one at Addicted to Fabric...mmm or maybe the same? hard to tell...I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE their quilt displays! They make me want to start (I mean..try) quilting again.









3. Ink and Spindle - Oooooo how wonderful it felt when I finally got to see my fabrics...my beautiful fabrics by Lara Cameron. A wonderful person, a talented designer and a groovy studio :). Would definitely be coming over again in the future to pick up more wonderful fabrics :p
