shy indian princess

My little one has always been quite sensitive...she does not easily blend in with her environment...and it was my fault for not asking her friends' indian costume design!  I thought they're all going to wear an Indian sari...but I was wrong! The others were wearing a simple Indian tunic!  She refused to wear the top and the skirt we've made for the sari.  It would've been much easier for me to sew the tunic...but alas, it was too late and hence, my little one was sulking on stage...refusing to move :p...I'm sorry, baby...next year I'll make it up to you :).  They were singing to the song Chamak chalo...I have no clue what it means :D

my butterfly and little crab

Today finally came and this morning, my little girls performed.  We were running a bit late, so Big M missed the little singing in the beginning...but she did the rest of her lion king act :).  On the other hand, Little M had a stage fright...she simply stood there on the stage....not moving :( hahahahhaa ow well...I love you both...you made me so very proud :).  It was a very sad good-byes to the teachers :'(...I couldn't help but shed a little tear watching them...after all, they've been at Ismile since they were both 1.5 years and Big M is really close to her classmates...it really is hard to say good bye...but such is life.  Thank you to everyone at Ismile...it's been a wonderful journey for both of my kids...they've certainly enjoyed their time there.

My stoned crab and her friends....the little sebastian was soooo cute!! She
moved and dance happily.  She's my college friend's daugter...small world :)

My little butterfly and her insect friends :D...mmmm her antennae was
a bit crooked :p

so long 2010...it's been fun

I'm looking forward to the new year...wishing it would be a better year for everyone :).  What will you be doing on New Year's Eve???

Something I forgot to post...The Misfits had Christmas Carnival and their teachers called me for a little help on their costumes.  I made the costumes for lil misfit's class...it was so very easy and simple :)...I used synthetic material...so I just cut the material without having to close the edges, since there are no frayed edges :D hehehehe...Since I bought too much fabric for lil M's class, We've decided to use the left overs for Big M's Class...I helped the Moms with the boys' outfit...then the talented Moms of class N2C made all the accessories :)...including the shoes!!! :D...All I had left to do was making a warrior costume for my misfit and her friend...voila...2 female warriors and stripey cape (which you can't see here) :D.  Sadly, I was in Singapore during the performance...and my hubby took some very bad shots ... so I stole my friend's photos :D

Big M's Class...."Warrior" Theme...Photo taken by Dylan's Mom

Lil M's Class....I'm not sure what their theme is :D...probably jungle??

happy UN day

Last Friday was a UN day celebration at Misfits school.  It was fun and hectic :)...hectic coz I've only finished their costumes at midnight!  But, I guess the costumes turned out A O KAY :D

Big M was wearing a Dutch Lady Costume, I got inspired while googling all the costumes...the hat I just used a trapezoid fabric :D.  Little M was wearing a Jasmine costume from this Japanese costume book and I decided to use Morocco as the country :p hahahhahaa...belly dancer...

Little M cried during the fashion show hahahhaa...I guess because I was there she became extra clingy!

Big M's celebrated it at the school's branch at Miniapolis, Plaza Indonesia...so I had to go from one place to another...but she was so very happy enjoying all the games there with her friends :)

a seahorse costume

The other day, my friend's friend asked me if I could make her son a seahorse costume for his school play.  I came up with this apron like seahorse :) made of felt fabrics :).  I hope the little boy doesn't mind the seahorse costume :).  I asked misfit to model it for me...she was reluctant...and ended up crying because she thought she looked like a worm hahahahahahhahhaa...so I asked the nanny to madel it instead.

misfit's first halloween costume

Very proud of myself for making a dress without using a pattern :). I finished it in a night (it was pretty easy) till late night and I had to catch the first flight for a day trip the next day...I am literally a walking zombie today...since I finished the hood last night using a pattern from a Japanese book and came home to a sick child :'( .....mmmm

a yukata for UN Day

I thought of making a yukata last minute...It was truly hell to make ... the book was not the clearest Japanese pattern book (but it is the only one I have), but I kinda like the end product :p. The fabric I got from scouring my factory...I think it used to be chair upholstery fabric :D
