boos and yays

life...why does it have to keep moving up and down like a wheel :D...right now, I'm probably in one of my bottom lows...personally and professionally.  Today, my sewing machines are officially broken!!!!  The Bernina has been out of function for quite some time now, and since I haven't had the time to go to Singapore..it's been lying on the floor, waiting to be fixed...so, I've been sewing with my Tajima for this past month or so...and now, that d#$n machine has decided to go broke on me!!!  Took it to the shop and the guy said it could not be fixed today! and plus, it won't be another few days before I could see my machine!!! because they will be closed for the next THREE days!!! arghghghghghghghgh...I know I know...Life shall go on...ooo and to make matters worst...the helper's sewing machine is also broken (an old singer I let the helper use to sew)...so yes, I am without sewing machine and my deadline is MOUNTING to an end!!oooo life....

For the yays...well, not that I have a lot :) but my mom WON 1st price in the Crawler category and 2nd price for Swimmer category (don't ask me what they are...clueless here)...She's not back home yet, nor I could find the winning pictures on her facebook :) but I sure am proud of her :).  It is an international competition held by Timor Leste, with a lot of media coverage...to enter the competition, you need to actually be chosen to join and she was one of the chosen ones :)...you can read more about the competition here.  I still can't believe it :) but she and a very talented friend, Kay Lim were winners and I think they deserve this acknowledgement for their hard works :).  Congrats once again to the winners!!!

From left to right...Mom and her medals :)...Mom with The President, Dr. Jose Ramos Horta and her price money :D hihihihi

bye bye bb

The day started off well.  We had a nice breakfast at Fauchon and I simply LOOOVE their canelles...Misfit loves the plain croissant and the salmon sandwich wasn't too bad as well :).

We then walked from place de la madeleine to place de la concorde and continued our journey to the park of Musee d'louvre.  That's where I lost my beloved blackberry :'(.  I might have dropped it and whoever picked it up, decided to steal it...We've tried calling a few times and it went through once, after that, the thief turned off the mobile...surprisingly, I wasn't as upset as I thought I would be...I guess because I've been through worst ordeal...like when I lost my PASSPORT in Greece.  Anyways...I wish the thief the best of luck with all mine and my family's bad lucks :D...he/she can bear all of my bad lucks :D

We then took the batobus to show big M around...I'll post more pictures when I have the energy :D.

On another note...I miss my li'l misfit...A LOT :'(...we had a nice picnic during lebaran :)...it was messy but fun :D

congrats, foxy :)

Thank you all for voting...I've been very busy lately...no, not work related...you see, you all know I have house helpers and nanny...and since it is the muslim's holiday, they've all gone back home :(...so here I am, cleaning and taking care of the misfits :D...I sneaked a few sewings here and there but I'm mostly doing household chores...which I hate so so so so much...I just can't imagine how the rest of the world sew, cook and clean whilst taking care of your misfits ;).  Like this afternoon...I was doing the kids' laundry as usual..then when it was done, there was a weird clump...at first I thought it was the detergent but it smelled like pee!!!!  Then I knew immediately what it was...and I'm sure you all do too :(...Yes, it was li'l misfit's diaper!!!!! ARGHGHGHGHGHGH....I felt like shooting myself in the head :D...The good thing is...I do actually enjoy the hectic crazy time I get to spend with the misfits (when they're not fighting or messing things up!)

So...after much complaints and chit chat from me...I'd like to congratulate Sertyan for her fox bag :)...I'll send a pack of special things...which I haven't yet gathered :p.

a letter of explanation

Today is a good day.  Anne Moscicki of a common thread sewing emailed me, explaining her reasons and her misunderstandings as well as her failure of emailing me amidst their busy and hectic schedule.  Victoria emailed me as well and their emails certainly brighten my day.  Thank you all for all of your supports, I'm sure everyone makes mistakes, we're humans after all :) and I am far away shied from it :).

it's a bright sunny day with a hint of cupcake shoes after the rain

I would like to thank you all for cheering me up yesterday :).  I truly appreciate each and every comment and encouragement...I am touched :).  And yes, I've emailed the shop but no reply yet.  But I'm not going to let this get me down.  As a matter of fact...I had so much fun yesterday...I got a pair of cupcake knickers from a shop in Kemang :).

a discouragement

today, I received an email from one of my reader...She was asking me if I was the one teaching a scaley pouch class in a quilt shop in Portland.  Naturally, I was confused...here I am, in Jakarta....miles away from Portland, OR.  After further emails, I discovered this quilt shop's website.  My initial reaction was...it might be something loosely based on my scaley pouch tutorial...but upon downloading its spring summer pdf catalog, the pouch is awfully familiar.  It is for a class they're offering there.  As I've written on all of my patterns, I don't mind people using them for personal and commercial use.  All I ask is for you to acknowledge my work.  It is free, and it brightens my day when people are happy with the patterns, and even make money from them.  Here's the picture from the catalog found at a common thread

and here is my scaley pouch

a phone fraud close encounter

Last Friday, as I was having breakfast, I got a phone call from the so called telkom (Indonesian telecommunication company). This guy was asking me to talk to a Mr. Gunawan, so I told him that person does not live here, I am his daughter and I asked him why was he calling me?? Is it because there's a phone bill I forgot to pay? but no, he said Mr. Gunawan who lives at Jl. Gandaria I/40 (which isn't the correct address) won a motorcycle, the computer just generated the winner and our phone number came up on his screen...this winning is free of charge! no tax fees, no nothing...so I told him...that's not our correct address and he immediately answered...yes, you should call our customer service at: 50173513 immediately to claim your win!

Once I hung up the phone, I called telkom info line (104) and immediately told the lady on the line what happened and I gave her the phone number as well. She said she will report this incident to her boss...Let's hope they track this damn crook :)

finally found the reason why

I could not browse all the blogs from blogspot...because apparently it's not blogger.com's fault it is my STUPID IDIOTIC provider (excuse my language...I am venting my anger)...I use FAST NET which isn't so FAST...it should be called crappy net!!! according to the customer service, the communication and information department is banning all blogger sites! CRAZY....whilst OTHER internet service providers have no problem with such...what a bunch of nonsense...

recycled mineral water bottle

While I was pregnant with Emma, I noticed some of the big name restaurants in Jakarta are re-using water bottles and just refill them with dispenser water!! I find it very cheap of them to do so and of course very very unhygienic!! What if, the previous drinker actually drank the water directly from the bottle?! That was when I started noticing all these opened mineral water bottle and I've been demanding sealed mineral water from then on!
