my beautiful fabrics

I found some more beautiful fabrics :)...2 of Robert Kaufman's metro cafe fabrics and a Japanese usagi print :)...I need to buy that in pink...yes, they have pink! mmm or was it red??? forgot :D

the bookworm in me...

wants a new bookmark :)...so, before I dozed off to sleep, I sewed some :)...I bought some cocca scrap fabrics in Japan...they're quite expensive to my standard...hence, I was only able to buy scraps :p...so I've decided I want that "zig zag" selvedge on it and mix it with a linen cotton material I bought in Japan too.  The back of the bookmarks, I use some scraps I found in my scrap bin :D.  The flower machine embroidery kinda failed....ow well :D

a token of appreciation...

to the misfits' teachers :).  I made these pouches with my blank cards and two pieces of my veneer tags for misfits teachers.  I took their reports today and all went well.  Big M teacher told me how M was very caring to one of the naughty boy in class.  Nobody wanted to play with him and though there were time she was reluctant to play with him, there was a time when he was all alone and sad...Emma came to him and asked "What's wrong?"  There were also times when nobody wanted to sit with him and Emma would go and sit with him.  As a mom, I am very proud of her little act of kindness :). Thank you for teaching the children to be caring, independent, confident and happy.

will you have tea with me?

I wanted to make 2 cups and a pot...but ended up with this :)...I love tea...it started when I had a lovely afternoon tea at tea and sympathy before I came home for good.  I used to have midnight tea with my (now) husband...complete with cookies and sandwiches ahahhahahahaha...but Jakarta's weather is proven to be too hot and humid for a nice cuppa hot tea :)...I'd love to go to a nice traditional tea salon :)

gift pouches...

for a very cute 1 year old birthday boy :).  I couldn't think of anything creative...then I thought of a simple applique on the pouch.  One gift from big M and one gift from little M for the little birthday boy!  Happy Birthday, Matthew :).

vintage and used books: found

After lunch, I went to Carrefour at Melawai to buy some milk and diapers...then I was distracted by a big banner that read more than 150 seamstresses at Basement level...so I went down the basement level...and instead of seamstresses, I found these little shops of vintage and used books!  Both in Bahasa Indonesia and English...now I know where to sell my textbooks, magazines and my novels! :D

I love this easy project and it turns out quite pretty on big Misfit :).  I had to bribe her Ice cream before taking these pictures!  

houses and cars

Finally gocco-ing again :).  And I looove how this one turns out :).  I was so clumsy yesterday, as I was closing my AutoCAD program, it asked whether I wanted to save or not and I chose NO!!!! ARGHGHGH but I've saved it on pdf. sigh...

a very messy pink shirt

*sigh*....I hate sewing collars.  I was so happy when this shirt was almost done...then to my horror, as I was observing me new supposedly almost finished shirt, I realized I sewed the button hole piece wrong!! inside out! :'(.  I had to unpick the collar and the front...then, to make matters worst, as I was restitching new top stitch on the collar, I left the old one there and was going to take it out after I was done...then, after I was done unstitching, I took the wrong stitch!!!!! arghghghghghghgh...the collar is such a bad shape that I don't care much for it anymore! :)

baking supplies

the other day, my friend came over to show me her long awaited package.  She ordered these beautiful baking supplies online called bake it pretty...I forgot the link of the shop, but I'll ask her later.  Look at these goodies :) oooo and she gave me one of those heart shaper fried egg *grins*... now, I'm waiting for her to bake me some goodies :p

my gocco cards in hang zhou, china

yes...I've sent a few of my gocco cards to my best friend who is currently living in China and she requested me to send her some for her to try and sell there HAHAHAHAHA....I never thought she'd sell any!  But, so far she has sold 6...not bad :)  I'm just happy someone would ACTUALLY want to buy my card :).  These are some of the pictures she took for me at her little cute shop :).

heh??? i'm a winner...

wow...I won something again :)...I love winning things..this happened by chance! :D...I first knew about satsumapress while I was browsing the many wonderful blogs out there, probably when li'l misfit was born and one day I was reading her article about her son, Liam and the need to build a new bathroom for his birthday.  Her story touched me...So, I bought some raffle tickets to help Liam.  I never expected to win anything...but this morning, I got Lynn's email :) and I won striped grograin ribbon sash and matching rosebud hair pins from heart of light.  Lucky me :)

shirt dress take 2

I have this busy fabric I bought from my friend's factory and I was making a sample for our first bazaar...I still hate making shirt dresses...this one is from a Japanese book...it's still very tedious and since I had no stabilizer, I ended up using canvas grade muslin fabric for the button holes and buttons part...so hard to sew!  Drove me nuts

Purdue vs Notre Dame

There was a National Geographic magazine in our Maldives' boat...and there...Purdue's roach won against Notre Dame! yay!!! Purdue being my alma mater and ND my husband's...we're forever rivals :)
